4 and 5-Year-Olds
Our program for 4 and 5-year-old children has the goal of preparing them for Kindergarten. The class is designed to provide essential learning skills in writing, speech, and art.
We use the “Handwriting Without Tears” curriculum that teaches the children how to write their names, numbers and shapes through fun workbooks and songs. The ZooPhonics curriculum teaches them to recognize and sound out the letters of the alphabet, at the same time learning all about 26 different animal “Zoo Friends”.
Throughout the school year the children do many art, writing, math, cooking and science projects that teach them about colors, shapes, and the world around us. Everyday the class has a Bible time where they learn all about God’s Word through song and scripture memorization. By the end of the school year our hope is that each child is prepared for the joys and challenges of kindergarten, but more than anything has left with a year full of great memories and experiences from Farm Week in October to our parent/student Spring event.
